What is Janzu?
"It's that water massage, right?"
Well, there's a lot more to Janzu than that. The most appropriate way to describe it is as aquatic bodywork.
How does it work?
In one session, the recipient is moved through the water by a Janzu practitioner. Various movements are used to stretch the body, loosen the muscles and deepen relaxation. In contrast to Watsu, Janzu also works underwater and the person is gently submerged under the surface of the water, which can lead to very unique experiences and impressions. The effect is mainly due to the water. The practitioner has rather the role of supporting and holding. A nose clip is provided and worn during waterwork to prevent water from entering the nasal passages in an uncomfortable way.
And what does it do?
During a session can occur very different phenomena: It can have a relaxing effect on the mind and body; be beneficial for tension; relieve the spine and joints; at the same time it can also trigger deeper processes; lead from the head more into the body; promote emotional experience; likewise trance-like states can be achieved; also associative processes can be triggered or physical phenomena such as color vision can occur.
The range of effects is wide and depends entirely on the current state of the receiving person.
For whom is it suitable?
Janzu is suitable for everyone, whether old or young, pregnant, with back problems, etc.. The only contraindication is heart disease due to the temperature of the water and the spatial rotation of the body in the water. Here it is recommended to consult your doctor.
What is the origin of Janzu?
Janzu was developed by Mexican Juan Pathik Villatoro in the 90s. Pathik was inspired by his travels through India and developed the technique of Janzu. Translated: peaceful flow. Pathik cherished the dream that the blessing of water will reach everyone. Accordingly, he passed on his knowledge and experience to his students.
